The 2026 World Cup schedule has 104 matches across 39 days, spread over 16 venues in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. FIFA released the full fixture list after the December 2025 draw in Miami.
The tournament opens on June 11 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where Mexico play their first group stage game after the opening ceremony. The group stage runs through July 2. Three matches take place on most days, 48 in total. Each group's final matchday is played simultaneously across both games, the standard approach used to stop teams from gaming results based on the other match still being in progress.
Round of 32: July 4 to 7, two matches a day. Round of 16: July 8 to 11. Quarter-finals: July 12 and 13. Semi-finals July 15 and 16. Third-place play-off July 18. Final July 19, MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
The final kicks off early evening Eastern Time. That is not an accident. It puts the match in prime time for Europe and late afternoon on the US West Coast, which covers the two largest commercial audiences for the tournament.
